The Toppenish School System, Washington state sued Skylar Education Academy seeking $843,000 in damages for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, fraudulent omissions and inducement.

Toppenish alleges that the distance education service provider may have overstated student enrollment and attendance records. Instances of mismanagement as well as Toppenish’s lack of monitoring for the contract were uncovered during a routine audit in 2014.
